It&#39;s been on the verge of shocking, based on what I experienced in the past.<br /><br />As for DirecTV, they have actually been brought to court for their actions against departing customers. Based on my research they have never lost in court, by a number of suits at least leads to the fact that they mislead customers at the time of service upgrades.<br /><br />Lesson learned, and I got my DVR money back in a timely manner once I got a hold of the higher management at DirecTV.Infini4http://www.blogger.com/profile/13760752376968685401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2746541146627589039.post-11014528481650913752009-12-19T12:39:43.023-05:002009-12-19T12:39:43.023-05:00Couple things you should take from this. Companies are in business to make money. Doesn&#39;t matter if it&#39;s Satellite TV, Cable, Wal-Mart, Bank, Credit cards, Electric company, Insurance company, etc.<br /><br />Always take the time to read the fine print on a monetary commitment. I know it is a pain but they make it fine for a reason. Not reading it doesn&#39;t remove responsibility for what it says. Know what you are committing to.<br /><br />Don&#39;t allow anyone to have access to your bank account without extremely good justification! Maintain control of your accounts.<br /><br />Don&#39;t blame the company because you did not know what you committed to. Satellite receivers are leased not owned. Your Comcast DVR may be also.<br /><br />Most services have an early termination fee in their contracts. Cell phones, Cable, ISPs, Satellite TV, etc. If you are getting a discounted rate on something there is probably a time commitment with an early termination fee.<br /><br />Basically, know what you are committing to, maintain control of your accounts and don&#39;t blame the business when they hold you to what you committed to.<br /><br />Just my opinion.
